Find a Teaching Space
Visit Scottish Natural Heritage’s Teaching Space website. This site is for teachers who want to take their pupils to a natural heritage site. It includes: a directory of sites, activity ideas and supplementary information to help you to plan and follow up your visit.
Take Learning Outdoors
Visit Learning and Teaching Scotland’s Taking Learning Outdoors Website. Here you can find out about how A Curriculum for Excellence supports the outdoor learning approach and find out where to go, what to do and how to keep safe in the outdoors.
Find a Local Route
There are many guides to local routes produced by local authorities and other organisations and groups. Contact your local tourist information office or local access officer or ranger for more information.
Visit a Farm
The Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) can support teachers with farm visits on a range of topics. Support is available for all aspects of the visit, including supplying wellie boots if necessary. RHET can also arrange for a farmer to visit a school to talk to the children. Visit www.rhet.org.uk for more information.
