Don't mess with nature

Thankfully the majority of campers follow the 'leave no trace' principles of wild camping but a minority of campers can be less considerate. Our 'Don't Mess with Nature' marketing campaign is targeted at occasional campers who pitch beside roads or lochs or camp at festivals with little regard for the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

The bird, squirrel and rabbit characters have been used to advertise their messages on phone boxes and bus shelters, at festivals such as T in the Park and Hydro Connect, and on the radio. Each character offers a slightly different message with key statements from the Scottish Outdoor Access Code:
