Are you a responsible camper?
When camping in Scotland the key messages to remember are:
Lighting fires
Use a stove if possible. If you must have an open fire keep it small and under control and remove all traces before leaving. Never cut down or damage trees. Never light an open fire in forests or woods as fires that get out of control can cause major damage.
Human waste
If public toilets aren't available, carry a trowel and bury your own waste and urinate well away from open water, rivers and burns.
Litter
Take away all your rubbish and consider picking up other litter as well.
Published posters
Our posters and compact leaflet sets out the key messages and advice on what common issues to consider and actions to take.
